About Custom Can Coolers

Custom Canned and Bottled Beverage Coolers – Sleeves. Promotional beer, water and soda coolers are among the highest volume of all items. Most events have everyone with a drink in their hand, thus the sleeve with your name or logo becomes the most visible promotional product at the event.

Most canned drinks are 12 oz “sleeves” – 12 oz tall and skinny cans (like a slim version of the standard can). Some are 12 oz “tall boys” (taller and skinnier than standard cans). Others are 16 oz “tall boys”. In order to have a workable number of sleeves to hand out to guests at an event, one must first determine the number and size of the canned drinks that the crowd at the event will be consuming.

The material of the sleeve is also something to consider. Closed-cell foam sleeves are generally the most cost effective and provide good insulation. The foam does not absorb water, so any condensation that occurs on the outside of the sleeve will stay there. Open-cell versions of foam are cheaper to make, but tend to be soggy and retain a smell after a single use outdoors. In the meantime, they can make a great party favor. Neoprene sleeves are more expensive than foam, but provide a more premium product. They can be printed with full-color sublimation, and feel more dense in your hand. They are often used for wedding favors and other corporate gifts.

Next up is the print method. While both the material and print method can be changed to better match your promotional items, screen printing gives better results when used with foam than sublimation. However sublimation does give better results when used with neoprene and allows for photographs and gradients to be printed.

Minimums start at 50 pieces and the unit cost falls steeply across the tiers. Plan roughly one per guest plus fifteen percent, because running short is the complaint we hear most. The full lineup sits under the custom can coolers collection, with bar service items under kitchen and bar.
