The standard 12oz can cooler in quarter-inch closed-cell foam, printed all the way around. People call these can coolers, can sleeves, or drink sleeves, and this is the item they mean when they ask for custom can coolers for an event. The cells do not absorb water, so condensation stays on the outside of the foam instead of soaking into it, and the trapped air is what slows the can warming up. Open-cell foam gets soggy, holds a smell after a weekend outdoors, and is what you get from the cheapest overseas listings. Quarter inch is the thickness that insulates properly while still folding flat enough to stuff a few hundred into a box. The print area wraps 4 by 3.5 inches, and full wrap is available if you want art running continuously around the can. Screen printing handles one to four spot colors and gives the crispest edges on text and logos. Full-color sublimation is the option for photographs, gradients, or anything with more colors than screen printing can hold. For most logos, screen printing is both cheaper and sharper.
