Event, Staff, Outdoor Program and School Use: Insulated bags and carriers for events, for staff gifts, and for use in the great outdoors. How thick is the insulation in your selection of event, staff, school and outdoor program use insulated bags and carriers?
The insulated bag or cooler is made up of three layers – the outer fabric layer, the foam layer and the lining. Of these three layers, the foam layer is the hardest to save money on as it is the invisible part of the insulated bag. Therefore, a bag that is only a couple of mm thick will likely only keep items cool for the drive home and no longer. A proper cooler tote will hold temperature for hours.
The lining of an insulated bag should be a sealed, wipeable material, usually PEVA. The seams at the bottom of the bag should be welded, not stitched, as otherwise they will leak. A cooler that leaks will melt water in a car boot, and be thrown in the bin, regardless of how good the logo on the bag is.
Most insulated tote bags and travel bags are measured in terms of the number of cans of soda that they can hold. A six to twelve can tote is good for holding lunch for and the personal items of one or two people. A twenty-four can and up tote is for holding the things for a family or for an event and typically would need wheels and a strap to carry it.
Minimums typically start at 25 to 50 pieces. Non-insulated carriers sit under bags, and event and stadium gear under outdoor gear.
